![]() ![]() The overall conversation is Geralt indirectly saying to Triss: "Don't act as if you forget me and got over it. This corroborates with the whole Triss romance where Geralt has to request Triss to stay or else she will leave. It is simply Triss has still feelings for Geralt, and Geralt still has feelings for Triss, but Geralt, on seeing Triss masking her feelings as if she has moved on, and got over it, made Geralt start the conversation, the very option to trigger that conversation is: "Are you truly, or just PRETENDING?" Is it just breakup "you should move on" chatter? If it is it sounds uncharacteristically self-important of Geralt. I know they were a thing in the previous game, and Triss was exploiting Geralt, or at least felt like she was, I know how it ended, but I never played that game so I don't exactly know the dynamic or what they're specifically talking about. When you sit down with Triss to catch up, Geralt says he's happy to see Triss safe and sound, and Triss sarcastically says "and reconciled?" to which Geralt responds, "are you?" One of the dialogue choices leads to Geralt sharing an anecdote about a guy who lost his legs who said it was just as well because he wouldn't feel pain in them ever again. During the first quest in the Novigrad quest line you help Triss out with a rat infestation.
